While at CCM, Dr. Ostoich also served as Visiting Professor at Ohio University and at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also currently the featured artist-faculty of the Oboes at Oxford oboe camp in Gainesville, Georgia each summer. From 1986- 1996, Dr. Ostoich was professor of oboe at Louisiana State University and principal oboist of the Baton Rouge Symphony. From 1973-1986, he was principal oboist of the Jacksonville Symphony, taught at the University of Florida, and was artist-teacher of oboe at the Sewanee Summer Music Center. He has served as coordinator of the MTNA Collegiate Artist and Chamber Music Competition.
Ostoich was co-host of the 1990 Conference of the International Double Reed Society, hosted the Elaine Douvas Oboe MasterConference, and hosted the Loree-CCM Oboe Festival in 2009. Major influences in his career include John Mack and Joseph Robinson and his primary teacher for the BM, MM, and DMA degrees was Earnest Harrison at LSU.
